Please do NOT ship your materials as "cargo or door-to-airport”, because these services generally do NOT include customs clearance. Neither IIE nor the hotel will be able to assist if your packages are delayed in customs or undeliverable due to improper labeling.

Who Attends the Fair?

No previous fair statistics are available as this is the first time that IIE has held the US Higher Education fair in Shenyang. Statistics from the previous fairs in China and Open Doors reports indicate that although Chinese students are primarily interested in graduate programs, there has been a strong trend of students’ looking into undergraduate studies. In 2006/07, their breakdown was as follows:

Shenyang is the capital city of Liaoning province, and the biggest city in Northeast China. It is a sub-provincial city with a population of 7.2 million within its administrative area of 12,924 km². Shenyang is the economical, cultural, communication, trade, auto engineering and commercial hub of the Northeastern region of China; it is also a major industrial and cultural city with historical importance. Shenyang is located at the center of the Northeast Asian economic ring and Bohai economic ring, so it has important strategic status. Shenyang will host the football (soccer) games of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Northeast China is the home of a number of prestigious higher education institutions, such as Northeast University, Liaoning University, Shenyang University, Liaoning Technical University, Shenyang University of Technology, Shenyang Agricultural University, China Medical University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and Liaoning Normal University.
