Who Attends the Fair
As the second U.S. University Fair in Nagoya, expectations are high.
The year 2005 is key for Nagoya and the surrounding areas of central Japan.
In February, "Centrair" opened as the new international airport,
and from March through September 25, Aichi EXPO 2005 will open here as the
first World Exposition of the 21st century. These two major events increase
local residents and prospective student awareness of “internationalization”
and global trends more than ever before. Also, four US airlines will soon be
in service at the new international airport “Centrair” and the bonds between
Aichi and U.S.A. will strengthen.
The city of Nagoya has a population of 2 million and is located in a major
metropolitan belt of many more halfway between Tokyo and Osaka. Just like those
locations, prospective students in central Japan gathering in Nagoya, mostly
being self-sponsored potential undergraduate freshmen, transfers, and graduate
students, will appreciate this opportunity to meet with U.S. school representatives.
